  • May 27th, 1982 - Colorado Rockies' franchise is purchased by Dr. John McMullen and moved to New Jersey.
  • June 29th, 1982 - Dr. McMullen announces the franchise name as the New Jersey Devils. Video.
  • October 2nd, 1982 - Don Lever scores the first goal in Devils franchise history versus the Pittsburgh Penguins. Video.
  • April 3rd, 1988 - John MacLean scores overtime game-winning goal against Chicago in 1987-88 season finale as the Devils clinch their first postseason berth. Video.
  • April 30th, 1988 - John MacLean scores the game winning goal in a Devils' 3-2 victory over the Washington Capitals in game 7 as the Devils capture Patrik Division Playoff Championship. Video.
  • June 13th, 1995 - Randy McKay scores the game winner as the Devils defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 to win the Prince of Wales Trophy and advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. Video.
  • June 24th, 1995 - The Devils win their first Stanley Cup Championship. Video.
  • April 12th, 1997 - The Devils clinch their first Atlantic Division title as a result of a Philadelphia Flyers 3-3 tie versus Montreal.
  • 1998 - Devils win second consecutive Atlantic Division title.
  • April 8th, 1998 - With a 1-0 victory over the Washington Capitals, the Devils become the first team since the Philadelphia Flyers in the mid 80's to win three consecutive Atlantic/Patrick Division titles.
  • April 17th, 1999 - The Devils set the NHL record for most road victories (28) with a 4-1 win over Nashville.
  • June 10th, 2000 - The Devils win their 2nd Stanley Cup Championship on Jason Arnott's goal in game six against Dallas in double overtime. Video 1. Video 2.
