Lamoriello Replaces Julien as Head Coach

April 2, 2007

newjerseydevils.com – Devils CEO/President/General Manager Lou Lamoriello has taken over as head coach, replacing Claude Julien, the team has announced.

Lamoriello previously assumed the role of head coach on Dec. 19, 2005 through the end of the 2006 playoffs, and led the team to a 32-14-4 (.680) mark and a first-place division finish.

New Jersey completed the largest come-from-behind Division Championship in NHL history (19 pts.).

The Devils currently lead the Atlantic Division with a record of 47-24-8 and 102 points, and clinched their 10th-straight playoff berth on March 20.
